We harvest beeswax from the cappings produced during honey extraction, ensuring nothing goes to waste. After carefully cleaning and filtering the wax, it becomes a key component in our skincare and home goods.
We practice responsible honey harvesting by balancing production with the needs of the hive. While we remove excess honey to help protect hives from winter pests, we always leave 60–100 pounds per hive so the bees have plenty to eat throughout the winter season.
We support bee health through sustainable practices, starting with our Mite Maller queen line known for natural mite-grooming behaviors. When needed, we use vaporized oxalic acid in spring and fall—an organic-standard treatment. We never use pesticides, herbicides, or chemicals in our beekeeping, and we keep our hives on local chemical-free farms, giving bees clean forage while supporting nearby ecosystems.
